Arunachal: Bage Tinali of Capital Itanagar - A Story of Love, Affection, and Contribution

Bage Tinali, a tri-junction that connects Naharlagun Nirjuli to Doimukh, is a well-known landmark in the capital complex. However, not many people know the story behind its name. Bage Tinali is named after the first settler family, the Bage family, who migrated towards the capital in the late 70s.

According to Julie Bage, the daughter of Tami Bage, the first settler of Bage Tinali, her father was known as "Bage Babu" by everyone during that time. Tami Bage owned a vast land that was mainly covered with jungle and was a non-inhabitant area. He was the one who ran fair price shops and other shops during that time.

Today, a rural bank has opened a branch in one of their premises. Julie hopes that the Arunachal Chief Minister recognizes her father's contribution as he has donated land to the Veterinary department and the backside of NERIST, PHED, and Rayo colony on a humanitarian ground.

Mingu Bage, Tami Bage's son, highlighted his father's efforts in the late 1970s to develop the tri-junction of Bage Tinali. Mingu stated that his father cleared the forest and witnessed encounters with wild animals during that time. He played a significant role in developing the area, which derived its name from the Bage family.
