Arunachal BJP accuses Congress of politicising NEET paper leak issue

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Arunachal Pradesh, on July 23 held a press conference at its State Head Office in Itanagar and accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and the Opposition of politicising the NEET paper leak controversy instead of engaging in constructive discussions in Parliament.

Addressing the media, Arunachal Pradesh Agriculture and Allied Minister Gabriel D. Wangsu questioned why Rahul Gandhi was allegedly avoiding a meaningful debate on the NEET issue in Parliament, describing it as a matter of utmost importance concerning the future of the nation’s youth.

Wangsu said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, student welfare remains the government’s highest priority and assured that strict action would be taken against anyone found guilty of compromising students’ futures. He also stated that the Prime Minister has directed the establishment of fast-track courts for the speedy disposal of paper leak cases to ensure time-bound punishment for those responsible.

The minister alleged that the Congress party was attempting to politicise the issue for political gain rather than participate in meaningful discussions on examination reforms. He reiterated the BJP’s demand for a detailed and transparent debate on NEET and related issues in Parliament.

Wangsu further said that the government is open to suggestions from the Opposition regarding reforms in the examination system and urged all parties to participate responsibly in the democratic process. He added that several arrests have been made in connection with paper leak cases and that enhanced security measures have been implemented in recent examinations.
