The Arunachal Pradesh BJP marked Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 76th birthday with the lighting of ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ across the state on September 17.
In Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu, along with state BJP president Kaling Moyong, lit the ceremonial diya at the Theravada Buddhist Temple.
The initiative was also held at Ziro, where BJP Rajya Sabha MP Tai Tagak led the programme. At Donyi Polo Airport in Holongi, state ministers Ojing Tasing, Dasanglu Pul and others participated in the diya-lighting ceremony.
According to the BJP, prayers were offered for Modi’s good health, strength and long life, with party leaders and workers joining the nationwide initiative marking his birthday.
The party said the programme was also part of its commemoration of what it described as 25 years of Modi’s dedicated public service.
State BJP office-bearers, Morcha heads, elected representatives and party workers participated in the celebrations across Arunachal Pradesh.
The party organised the programme under the theme: “Jisne Desh Ka Jeevan Sanwara, Usko Hai Aashirwad Humara.”
