Arunachal cabinet passes resolution marking Modi’s 25 years in public service

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu and the state Cabinet have passed a special resolution marking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s completion of 25 years in public service, from his tenure as Gujarat Chief Minister to his leadership of the country as Prime Minister.

To mark the occasion on October 11, Khandu, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju and state BJP leaders launched the ‘Seva Jyoti Yatra’ and ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sabha’ in Itanagar.

Celebrations, including lamp-lighting ceremonies, were also organised at district headquarters across Arunachal Pradesh, with ministers, MLAs and Zilla Parishad chairpersons participating.

Khandu credited Modi’s leadership and development vision with driving significant changes in the state, particularly in infrastructure development and the Centre’s focus on Arunachal Pradesh and the Northeast.

The chief minister also called on political parties to support the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, describing it as a cleansing exercise that had also been undertaken during previous Congress governments.

He said the exercise had received a positive response in Arunachal Pradesh, despite the state having a limited voter base of around 6.90 lakh.
