Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has warned that strict action will be taken against those encroaching on government land, stressing that many offenders are government officials. “None will be spared,” he said, adding that the crackdown is part of the state’s capital redevelopment plan.
Khandu also addressed concerns over the quality of the ongoing Package B flyover construction, assuring that the project is being closely monitored and that measures will be implemented to ensure safety and durability.
Itanagar MLA Techi Kaso, commenting on the delay in the Package B section of the Naharlagun highway, said tenders for such projects are awarded nationally, preventing the state from directly terminating contracts.
However, the government can request the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) to take necessary action. Kaso said he is regularly inspecting the site and expects faster progress after the monsoon.
