Arunachal: Heated exchange between AAPSU team and ITBP officials reported in Upper Subansiri’s Taksing
A heated exchange was reported between members of the All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union (AAPSU) and personnel of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) during the students body’s visit to Taksing near the India-China border.
The AAPSU team, led by its General Secretary Mato Bui, reportedly expressed strong resentment over restrictions on the movement of civilians in the border area.
During the interaction, a senior ITBP officer reportedly stated that “Lung,” located around 300 metres from Gora Camp, falls on the Chinese side and that the area extends up to around 30 km towards the Line of Actual Control (LAC), citing security-related restrictions.
However, local residents reportedly disputed the claim, maintaining that the area is Indian territory.
The exchange has raised concerns over civilian movement restrictions and the status of areas near the India-China border, with the AAPSU team seeking clarity on the matter.
