Arunachal: Iter Bam becomes youngest ZPM from Leparada to win unopposed, leaders hail youth and women’s participation
Iter Bam has emerged as the youngest Zilla Parishad Member (ZPM) from the 11th Basar Assembly Constituency in Arunachal after securing an uncontested victory as the BJP candidate.
Former MLA of Basar, Gokar Basar, praised the achievement and highlighted the growing role of youth in grassroots governance. Speaking to India Today NE, he said that the uncontested win reflects the collective trust placed in young leadership. He also acknowledged his personal connection with Iter Bam and expressed confidence that she will lead the constituency toward progressive development.
Meanwhile, the current MLA of Basar Assembly Constituency, Nyabi Jini Dirchi, congratulated all women candidates across the state who won unopposed. She stated that such victories signify the strong faith of citizens in women-led development initiatives and mark a positive shift in Arunachal’s political landscape.
Expressing gratitude, Iter Bam thanked the people of Leparada district for their unwavering faith in her leadership. She also appreciated MLA Jini Dirchi for extending her support and encouragement throughout the electoral process.
