Arunachal Legislative assembly leaders engage with TRIHMS doctors under ‘Outreach Connect’ initiative

As part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly (APLA), the ‘Outreach Connect’ initiative held under the theme “Celebrating Democracy and Inspiring Future Leaders” reached out to the medical fraternity of the state.

The special session took place at the Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) in Naharlagun and was attended by Speaker Tesam Pongte, Deputy Speaker Kardo Nyigyor, and Itanagar MLA Techi Kaso, along with senior faculty and officials. Prof. Nabam Naka Hina from Rajiv Gandhi University delivered a keynote lecture, highlighting the importance of active democratic participation.

Addressing the gathering, Speaker Pongte emphasized the role of democracy in shaping the future and encouraged doctors to remain aware of their fundamental rights and duties as citizens. He underlined that medical professionals, as key pillars of society, play a vital role in building a healthy and informed democracy.

The session aimed at fostering closer ties between the state legislature and the medical community, inspiring young professionals to contribute towards governance and social development beyond their medical responsibilities.
