Arunachal: Mega job fair in Itanagar connects youth with 50+ companies

In a major push to boost employment opportunities, the Department of Youth Affairs, Arunachal Pradesh, organised a large-scale job fair in Itanagar, drawing participation from over 50 companies across multiple sectors.

The event, part of the Annual Job Fair 2026, aims to connect youth with prospective employers through walk-in interviews, career counselling, and direct industry interaction. The initiative covers three locations across the state—Bomdila, Itanagar, and Roing—to widen outreach and access.

Attending the inauguration as the chief guest, Wangki Lowang, Minister for Environment and Forest, encouraged young people to step out, explore opportunities, and contribute to the state’s development. “Face the world and come back to contribute more to the state,” he said.

The minister emphasised the importance of discipline and punctuality, stating that these qualities form the foundation for success in both jobs and entrepreneurship. He urged youth to remain enthusiastic and cultivate self-discipline to make the most of emerging opportunities.

Lowang also made special mention of the Indian Army for participating in the event and creating awareness about the Agniveer recruitment scheme.

Several companies from sectors including banking, healthcare, logistics, hospitality, and technology participated in the fair. Recruiters from firms such as Axis Bank, Bank of India, Omega Healthcare, and MRF engaged with job seekers, offering a wide range of employment opportunities.

The minister also felicitated representatives from participating companies in recognition of their contribution to youth employment initiatives.

Officials said the job fair is designed to enhance employability by providing direct access to recruiters, helping bridge the gap between job seekers and industry demands. The final leg of the job fair will be held in Roing on April 17.
