Arunachal Ministers, MLA dismiss leadership change rumours, assert government is stable

Arunachal Pradesh Minister for Sports, Law & Justice and SJETA Kento Jini and Aalo West MLA Topin Ete have dismissed rumours of political instability and any possible change in leadership in the state, asserting that the Pema Khandu-led government is stable and intact.

Speaking to reporters, Jini said the government had no reason to be affected by what he described as “immaterial statements” being circulated by the opposition and on social media. He suggested that such statements were aimed merely at remaining in the news and rejected speculation over political instability.

Jini said Pema Khandu’s leadership was a blessing and a matter of pride for Arunachal Pradesh, while asserting that the administration remained stable. He added that the people of the state alone have the authority to determine the future of the government.

Highlighting the achievements of the Pema Khandu government over the past decade, Jini said the administration had significantly improved air, rail and road connectivity, besides strengthening infrastructure in the healthcare and education sectors and undertaking development initiatives in several other areas.

Echoing the minister, Aalo West MLA Topin Ete also rejected speculation about instability within the government. Speaking to reporters, Ete accused the opposition and others of making what he termed “immaterial statements” merely to remain in the news.

Quoting the popular phrase, “Kuch toh log kahenge, logon ka kaam hai kehna,” Ete said that political speculation should not be treated as a reflection of the government’s actual position.

“Government is stable and intact. Only people can dismantle the government,” Ete said, emphasising that the present administration was an elected government chosen by the people and should not be judged on the basis of political speculation or opposition rhetoric.

Defending the BJP-led government under Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Ete said that several projects that had remained incomplete for years had been completed during the past decade.

He pointed to a range of public welfare and infrastructure initiatives, including free bus services for women, inauguration of hospital buildings, and the construction and completion of roads and bridges, as examples of the government’s work.

The statements by the minister and MLA come amid speculation over the political situation in Arunachal Pradesh, with both leaders maintaining that the Pema Khandu government remains firmly in place.
