A surprise inspection by Arunachal Pradesh Education Minister Pasang Dorjee Sona in East Siang district schools has revealed lapses in functioning, with the minister warning of transfers and strict action against those found negligent.
Sona visited Upper Primary School Lumpo, Government Higher Secondary School Sille, Government Higher Secondary School Nari, Government Indira Gandhi Upper Primary School Pasighat, and Government Lal Bahadur Shastri Upper Primary School Pasighat.
He expressed concern over breaches of norms in several institutions and directed teachers and staff to immediately correct practices that compromise discipline and quality. Officials who fail to join duties even after transfer postings were warned of consequences, as the minister underscored that dereliction of duty would not be tolerated.
Accompanied by senior officials, Sona also reviewed classroom allotments, infrastructure conditions, toilet facilities, and implementation of the PM Poshan mid-day meal scheme. He reiterated that ensuring accountability in education was essential to provide students with the quality learning environment they deserve.
