Arunachal MLA Topin Ete inaugurates nutrition-focused café supporting ‘Vocal for Local’ drive

In a significant step toward empowering local entrepreneurship and promoting healthy living, Aalo West MLA Topin Ete inaugurated ‘Wholesome Bowls’, a unique health-centric café launched by young entrepreneur Tonya Sora, at Gohpur in Itanagar. The venture stands as a beacon of the ‘Vocal for Local’ initiative championed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while simultaneously addressing growing nutritional needs among Arunachal’s youth.

The café, driven by a menu rich in high-protein breakfasts, customizable salads, nourishing super bowls, and wholesome grab-and-go snacks, is targeted at health-conscious individuals and everyday athletes. More than just a business, Wholesome Bowls embodies a movement to integrate nutrition into daily lifestyles, offering sustainable food choices that fuel ambition and wellness.

“This isn’t just about food; it’s about creating a healthy mindset and supporting those chasing fitness goals,” said Tonya Sora, a postgraduate in management and an aspirant preparing for competitive exams. "This café is my way of contributing to a healthier community, especially for those who don’t always have access to clean, high-protein meals."

MLA Topin Ete, addressing the media during the inauguration, lauded Sora’s commitment and perseverance. “Despite being highly qualified, Tonya didn’t wait for a government job. He took a bold step and turned his passion into a profession. Such efforts deserve appreciation and support,” Ete said. He further encouraged other youth in the region to follow suit by launching innovative ventures instead of relying solely on public sector employment.

“Our government, under CM Pema Khandu, is committed to supporting local startups that reflect self-reliance and social responsibility. I assure my full support to any youth who takes a step away from unemployment, addiction, and aimlessness, and instead walks toward entrepreneurship,” Ete added.

Sora’s initiative not only highlights the entrepreneurial spirit but also aligns with the state’s need to cultivate a drug-free, health-conscious society, especially in the wake of rising concerns around youth addiction.

In addition to championing this venture, MLA Ete also took a moment to acknowledge the recent achievement of the Aalo Urban Department, which received an award for outstanding civic service. He also spoke about the ongoing efforts to trace a missing youth, feared drowned in the Yomgo River, urging the public and officials to remain vigilant and proactive.
