Advocate Kento Jini, the newly inducted Minister of Sports, Law & Justice, received a warm welcome on his first day at the office in the Civil Secretariat. The two-time MLA from Aalo East Assembly constituency, West Siang district, was greeted by officials from his departments, marking the beginning of his tenure with enthusiasm and high expectations.
Speaking to India Today NE, Jini stated his commitment to strengthening the state's legal and justice systems. "As someone who belongs to the legal field, I have a comprehensive understanding of the sector and aim to ensure justice for all," Jini said. He outlined his plans to enhance the legal department's efficiency and accessibility, promising reforms that would benefit the state's judicial infrastructure.
Jini also highlighted his vision for the Sports and Youth Affairs department. He advocated for increased youth engagement through sports, aiming to harness their potential and promote a healthier, more active lifestyle. "We need to create more opportunities for our youth to excel in sports and improve the existing infrastructure," he stated, outlining his strategy to bolster sports development in Arunachal Pradesh.
Jini's political journey has been marked by significant achievements. He won the 2019 elections unopposed as a BJP candidate and secured a decisive victory against PPA candidate and former Minister Jarkar Gamlin in the recent elections, with a substantial margin of 3,158 votes.
In his new role, Jini will oversee the Ministry of Law, Legislative and Justice, Social Justice Empowerment and Tribal Affairs, and Sports and Youth Affairs.
