Arunachal Pradesh celebrates holi with great pomp and enthusiasm

On the occasion of Holi, the people of Arunachal Pradesh celebrated holi across the state and several programmes were organized on March 8.

Following the festival of colours, maximum shops remained closed as local youths and citizens were seen enjoying this festival despite cultural and religious differences. 

Speaking on the occasion, the Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC) wished the people of the state and said that as per Hindu rituals, Holi is a very prestigious festival that is being celebrated across the world.

"From my side and from my Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC), I wish all the citizens and well-wishers a very happy and prosperous Holi. The festival is celebrated to remember Lord Ram's victory over Ravana, marking the triumph of good over evil. On this auspicious day, I pray Almighty for the good health of all citizens of my capital Itanagar,'' he added.  

Phosum Khimhun BJP MLA from Changlang South talking exclusively to IndiaTodayNE wished all the citizens a happy Holi as it is a national festival and everyone should celebrate it with enthusiasm. 

"Citizens of Arunachal are celebrating holi with great joy and enthusiasm but we all the MLAs could not celebrate with our constituency people because of the ongoing budget session in the Legislative Assembly, still I wish all a very happy and safe Holi," he added.
