Organised by the Arunachal Pradesh Football Association (APFA) under the leadership of its President and Chief Minister Pema Khandu, along with General Secretary Kipa Ajay, the championship will run from March 25 to March 31. Adding to the excitement, Indian football legend Sunil Chhetri will attend the inaugural ceremony as a special guest, further boosting morale among young players and fans alike.

The host nation’s squad, led by head coach Naushad Moosa, comprises 24 players selected from across the country. Key names include goalkeepers Dipesh Chauhan and Mohanraj K, defenders Dippendu Biswas and Harsh Palande, and forwards Suhail Ahmad Bhat and Thoi Singh Huidrom. Notably, the squad features a strong representation from the Northeast, with seven to nine players hailing from the region.

Speaking to India Today, Moosa expressed confidence in his team’s chances, while acknowledging the challenges posed by the artificial turf and the quality of opposition. “We are prepared for a tough contest. Bhutan and Tajikistan are strong sides, but we are confident of putting up a strong performance,” he said.
