Arunachal: Terit Valley festival celebrated with great enthusiasm in Jairampur

Pangsau Pass international Festival of Nampong replaced by Terit Valley festival due to ongoing restrictions by Indian Army. 
Three day Terit Valley festival an aegis of Pangsau pass international Festival PPIF celebrated at Jairampur town with great enthusiasm.

Earlier traders from Nampong area, along with those from Myanmar, sell goods at Pangsau Pass border market, which is open on the 10th, 20th and 30th of every month but now it's closed since few years. 

The Pangsau Pass, cutting across the mountain ranges, connects Nampong with Kachin state of Myanmar. Pangsau Pass market bordering Myanmar in Arunachal Pradesh temporarily shut down since covid pandemic started in 2020.

The first ever Terit Valley Festival 2023 (𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐏𝐈𝐅) (the biggest ethnic extravaganza of Arunachal Pradesh) started from 9 February 2023 which will last upto 11th February at Kovin Village of Jairampur in Changlang district.

The 3 days festival begins with great enthusiasm as there will be 3 cultural nights with a Beauty Pageant and renowned singers/DJ will preform at the event from the State.

At the bank of river Namchik enjoy the best Tangsa cuisines while enjoying the many sports events in day time.

Nakap Nalo Tourism & Civil aviation Minister attended the event as Chief Guest & Kumsi Sidisow Advisor to Environment & forest attended as Guest of honour. Chau Zingnu Namchoom attended the Terit valley festival as special Guest and Laisam Simai who is local Mla of Nampong cum advisor to tourism minister hosted the dignitaries.

On first Day at Jairampur the invitees visited Pangsau Pass international border of Indo Myanmar and analysed the vast  tourism potential of the area which could be a game changer in trapping tourists and boom the economy of the region.

Local MLA Laisam Simai talking to indiatoday informed that due this Terit valley festival is been celebrated to promote tourism in the area. Laisam urged Centre to open the famous Pangsau Pass and ease the restrictions implemented between the international border as this pass not only exchange goods but also possess a great potential for tourism in the Changlang district.
