Arunachal: Tight contest between BJP and NCP ahead of Bordumsa Zilla Parishad polls
With just a week left for the Zilla Parishad Member election in the 14/01 Bordumsa constituency of Arunachal Pradesh, campaigning has reached its peak as the BJP and NCP go head-to-head in what is expected to be a closely fought contest.
BJP candidate Thingnong Umbu has intensified his campaign, moving door-to-door from morning till night to connect with voters across all corners of Bordumsa. Party workers say hundreds of new supporters have joined the BJP in the last few days in the presence of Umbu and senior leaders.
Meanwhile, public sentiment reflects growing dissatisfaction over development in the region. Local residents have expressed disappointment with incumbent MLA Nikh Kamin, who won the Bordumsa-Diyun Assembly constituency for the second consecutive term but is accused of failing to improve basic infrastructure.
Among the key issues highlighted by voters are poor road connectivity, lack of drinking water facilities, absence of proper drainage systems, and the non-availability of a gynecologist at the Bordumsa Community Health Centre (CHC).
“This time we want change in the 14/01 Bordumsa Zilla Parishad Constituency election,” said a young voter, echoing the mood of many locals as the campaign enters its final critical stage.
