Arunachal: 'Vocal for Local' initiative gets boost as Apatani music album unveiled in Itanagar

Reinforcing the "Vocal for Local" initiative, Arunachal Pradesh BJP president Kaling Moyong on Sunday, July 26 launched the Apatani Dree Festival music video album, Ajin Nimi Kalyadu, at the NRCC in Itanagar.

The album was unveiled in the presence of BJP General Secretary Tadar Niglar, Joint Secretary to the Chief Minister Habung Lampung, veteran actor Hage D. Appa, and several cultural personalities.

Ajin Nimi Kalyadu, which portrays the story of separated childhood friends, features songs performed by renowned singer Taba Yall Nabam along with introducing artist Tasso Nanya.

The album has been produced by the NWRBA RWB Cultural Centre as part of its "Pan Arunachal" initiative under the direction of Vishal P. Nabam. The initiative aims to promote indigenous music and cultural heritage from across the state.

Speaking to the media after the launch, Moyong said the project reflects the spirit of the "Vocal for Local" campaign by encouraging the promotion of local music and artistic talent. He commended the NRCC for supporting regional albums and songs, stating that such initiatives contribute to preserving Arunachal Pradesh's rich cultural traditions and indigenous identity.

He further said that promoting local music and cultural expressions would help safeguard the heritage of the state's 26 major tribes and more than 100 sub-tribes while encouraging wider appreciation of Arunachal Pradesh's diverse cultural landscape.
