Arunachal: Will restore the glory of Aalo through tourism, states BJP candidate Topin Ete

Topin Ete who got the BJP ticket will be contesting from Aalo West Assembly constituency in Arunachal Pradesh for the Assembly elections and has pledged to bring back the lost glory of Aalo if he is voted to power.

Advocate by profession Topin Ete stated that Tourism will be the game changer and people of Aalo are lucky to be in a corridor of unexplored Tourist destination Mechukha as tourists will hold back at Aalo on way to see Mechukhan"I have a vision for developing tourist infrastructure and promote homestays and bring awareness among my people" said Ete while speaking to India TodayNE.

Topin Ete, in an interview with India TodayNE, expressed his intentions to restore the past glory of Aalo town. He pointed out that Aalo, once the headquarters of the undivided Siang region, has seen a significant decline in popularity. He also mentioned that the first generation of officers were alumni of Rama Krishna Mission Aalo, the first mission set up in the town.

Ete also highlighted the importance of the 1970's Donyi Polo temple, an iconic symbol of indigenous faith that still stands unmatched. He stressed that Aalo, once the hub of the Siang belt, has experienced a shift in scenario. The town is now divided into Aalo West and East constituencies, represented by different leaders.
He praised the development witnessed under Kento Jini's tenure in Aalo East, particularly in road communication and infrastructure. However, he expressed concern over the dilapidated condition of roads in several villages of Aalo West, and the state of education, with numerous schools being defunct due to lack of infrastructure. Ete vowed to work towards bringing back the glory of Aalo West.

Bagra villages, known for their organic pineapple production, require strategic marketing and export plans. The implementation of cold storage facilities is crucial to prevent spoilage of these organic products. The adoption of proper packaging and exporting technologies is also seen as a necessary step. In the recent election, the candidate advocating for these changes secured 44 per cent of the votes, while Bagra sir, another candidate, received 52 per cent. The remaining votes were distributed among other participants.

The 8-year tenure of Pema Khandu's BJP Government has seen significant transformations in Arunachal. Highways and roads to district headquarters have been drastically improved, reducing travel times from the capital to Aalo or Tawang from 12-14 hours to just 5-6 hours. Infrastructure developments such as airports, railways, medical colleges, school buildings, tourist circuits, Mini Secretariat, district hospitals, and more have been enacted with quality. The Pema Khandu regime has also addressed the drug menace in society, advocating for mass awareness and encouraging youths to engage in sports activities for better health.
