Arunachal’s youngest Minister takes office with a vision for rural development and connectivity

Ojing Tasing, the newly inducted Minister of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, received a warm welcome from BJP workers and departmental staff as he assumed office at the Secretariat. Tasing, one of the youngest ministers in Chief Minister Pema Khandu’s cabinet, expressed his commitment to improving grassroots governance and state transport services.

Tasing, who secured his position by defeating former minister Tapang Taloh of the INC with a margin of 2,594 votes from the 35 Pangin Assembly constituency in Siang district, has been entrusted with the crucial departments of Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Cooperation, and Transport, including state transport services.

Speaking exclusively to India Today NE, Tasing emphasized his plans to enhance the Panchayati Raj system, aiming to bolster governance from the grassroots level. He also highlighted the importance of his role in rural development, promising significant improvements for the rural communities of Arunachal Pradesh.

"In the context of the Transport Department, I aim to improve state transport services to ensure better connectivity across the state," Tasing stated. He stated the necessity of efficient transport systems for the overall development and accessibility of the region.
