Tension gripped the Nampong area along the India-Myanmar border in Arunachal Pradesh's Changlang district after a dead body was recovered on May 6. The body was found in a sensitive zone located between the Nampong police station and the CRPF camp.
The deceased has been identified as Wanzam Kochang, a long-time resident of Khamkhai village under Nampong. According to reports, Wanzam had been serving as a cook at the CRPF camp for several years, earning the trust of the personnel stationed there.
Authorities have confirmed that a post-mortem examination is scheduled to be conducted today to ascertain the exact cause of death. However, the incident has sparked widespread suspicion and anxiety among locals, many of whom believe that Wanzam may have been murdered by unidentified miscreants.
Security has been tightened in and around Nampong as investigations are underway. Police officials have assured that every angle will be thoroughly probed to bring the facts to light.
