Engineer dies on spot after boulder falls on car as massive storm triggers landslide in Arunachal’s Potin
A Junior Engineer was killed in a landslide-triggered incident in Potin under Keyi Panyor district after a large rock fell on his vehicle amid severe weather conditions across Arunachal Pradesh.
According to initial reports, the incident occurred during heavy thunder and storm, which led to a landslide in the area. A massive rock dislodged from the hillside and crushed a Fortuner vehicle in which the victim was travelling. The impact resulted in the engineer’s death on the spot.
The deceased has been identified as Deken Sorang, who was posted at Rural Works Department as a Junior Engineer at Pipsorang, Kra Daadi district. Local officials indicated that the landslide was triggered by intense rainfall accompanied by strong winds and lightning reported in several parts of the state.
Rescue teams and local administration personnel reached the site soon after the incident. Further details regarding the circumstances leading to the accident and any additional casualties are awaited.
Officials have advised caution for commuters in landslide-prone areas, particularly during adverse weather conditions.
