Flight delay irks passengers; four-hour delay in reaching Itanagar from New Delhi
Passengers on an Indigo flight bound for Delhi endured over four hours of delay at Donyi Polo Itanagar Airport in Arunachal Pradesh after the aircraft arrived late at night on April 24.
Indigo flight 6E-5365, scheduled to depart New Delhi at 12:15 pm and reach Itanagar by 3 pm, touched down only at 8 pm. Airline staff cited a technical fault as the reason for rescheduling, forcing travellers to wait inside the boarding area at Terminal 3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport.
The disruption on Friday affected those travelling between New Delhi and Itanagar, with ground crew switching counters three times amid mounting frustration. Stranded passengers highlighted discomfort from the prolonged wait without clear updates.
This incident has drawn sharp criticism from affected fliers, who lodged complaints against the airline for poor handling. It underscores ongoing challenges at the relatively new Donyi Polo Airport, which serves as a vital connectivity hub for Arunachal Pradesh and neighbouring Northeast states like Assam.
