Former AAPSU leaders join BJP in Arunachal Pradesh
Several former leaders of the All Arunachal Pradesh Students' Union (AAPSU) joined the BJP on Monday, July 6, in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, state BJP president Kaling Moyong, Rajya Sabha MP Tai Tagak and senior party leaders.
Among those who joined the party were former AAPSU president Tana Doji Tara, former general secretary Ritum Tali, and former student leaders Pangngam Wangnaw, Suraj Tayem and Pakmik Taipodia, along with several others.
The induction programme was also attended by Horticulture and Agriculture Minister Gabriel Wangsu, BJP leader Zingnu Namchoom and BJP general secretary Tadar Niglar.
Speaking to the media after joining the party, Tana Doji Tara and Ritum Tali said they had been encouraged by the BJP government's developmental initiatives in Arunachal Pradesh over the past decade. They also expressed confidence in the party's ideology and pledged to work in line with its principles.
Welcoming the new entrants, Rajya Sabha MP Tai Tagak said their experience in student leadership would help them emerge as public leaders and contribute to spreading awareness about government schemes and policies at the grassroots level.
State BJP president Kaling Moyong also welcomed the former student leaders and urged party workers to strengthen the organisation across the state. He specifically called for greater focus on the Liromoba and Doimukh Assembly constituencies, where the BJP was defeated in the last Assembly elections, and stressed the need to expand the party's grassroots presence in those constituencies.
