Itanagar celebrates Atal Smriti Varsh with patriotic Kavi Sammelan, students shine with poetry

In a vibrant celebration of Atal Smriti Varsh, marking the birth centenary of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the BJP Itanagar District in collaboration with the BJP Kisan Morcha Arunachal Pradesh, organised a heartfelt Kavi Sammelan at the State BJP Office. 

The event brought together young poets, senior party leaders, and newly elected Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC) Corporators, celebrating literature, patriotism, and democratic values.

Students from colleges in and around Itanagar recited patriotic poems, reflecting Atal Ji’s lifelong connection with Hindi literature and his deep sense of nationalism. Their creative expressions, marked by talent and passion, were praised as a fitting tribute to the former Prime Minister’s vision of nation-building through the power of words.

The programme was inaugurated with deep prajwalan and a rendition of “Vande Mataram,” followed by an engaging poetry competition. Gichik Yapi of DNGC College emerged as the winner, impressing the audience and judges with her poignant and evocative poem.

Speaking to the media, Shri Gumsen Lollen, State President of BJP Kisan Morcha Arunachal Pradesh, emphasised the importance of such events in nurturing young talent and instilling the values of literature, patriotism, and democracy. The event was further enriched by the guidance of judges, Assistant Professors Dr. Taro Sindik, Dr. Tadam Ruti, and Dr. Nguri Shanti, who provided invaluable support to the budding poets.

The Kavi Sammelan not only showcased the creative brilliance of the youth but also reinforced Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji’s enduring legacy, celebrating his ideals, love for literature, and commitment to strengthening democratic values in the nation.
