A violent clash between members of the Milli and Yukar clans in Poku area of Kamle district in Arunachal left three individuals seriously injured on Tuesday, August 27.
According to a situation report submitted by the Officer-in-Charge of Raga Police Station, the altercation stemmed from a long-standing land dispute, raising concerns of potential escalation between the rival groups.
In a bid to prevent further violence, the district administration has issued strict directives mandating all licensed arms holders from both clans to deposit their firearms at Raga Police Station or any nearby police outpost by August 27, 2025.
Authorities further warned that failure to surrender weapons within the stipulated time frame would result in the automatic cancellation of the concerned arms licenses.
Officials added that security measures have been stepped up in the area to maintain peace and avert further unrest.
