Meritorious Arunachal students, officers felicitated at Pongchau Village

A grand felicitation ceremony was held at Pongchau village in Arunachal's Longding district, on June 20, to honour meritorious students and distinguished officers.

The event was jointly organized by the Pongchau Village Council and Pongchau Students Union.

A total of 42 individuals, including officers and students from the village, were felicitated. Among them were Longhee Wangsa, Assistant Commanding Officer of the Assam Rifles, who cleared the Limited Departmental Competitive Exam, and Phohee Wangsa, a student of Government Higher Secondary School, Pongchau, who secured 91.8 per cent in Class XII CBSE 2024–25 exams, placing second in the state merit list.

Speaking at the event, ZPM Laito Wangsa said it was a proud moment for the village, especially considering its remote location near the Indo-Myanmar border and lack of modern facilities. The felicitation served as recognition of dedication and hard work despite the challenges faced by the local youth.

The honoured individuals expressed their gratitude to the organizers for acknowledging their achievements and encouraging the spirit of excellence in the village.
