'Most scientists are differently-abled': Arunachal minister at April Blossom annual day

In a powerful message of hope and inclusivity, Arunachal Pradesh Minister Dasanglu Pul today highlighted the extraordinary capabilities of differently-abled individuals, stating that “most scientists and scholars in the world are differently abled”.

The Minister was speaking as Chief Guest at the Annual Function 2025 of the April Blossom Foundation Special School & Early Intervention Centre, held in Naharlagun.

The event celebrated the remarkable progress, talent, and resilience of children with special needs. It featured a vibrant display of student performances — from cultural acts to skills exhibitions — showcasing their growth through the foundation's specialized programs.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Pul lauded the efforts of the April Blossom Foundation in transforming lives through early intervention and inclusive education.

“Never be disheartened,” she told parents and children alike, “as history has shown us that many of the greatest minds had to overcome learning or physical challenges. They succeeded not in spite of their differences, but because of them.”

MLA Techi Kaso, present as the Guest of Honour, also praised the Foundation’s commitment to empowering special children, encouraging greater societal support for inclusive education.

Binde Jini, Chairperson of the April Blossom Foundation, spoke passionately about the growing need for awareness around conditions like autism. She urged parents to step forward without fear or stigma and to seek timely help and intervention for their children. “It’s time we normalize these conversations,” she said.

The function brought together students, parents, educators, and community leaders, uniting in a shared mission of dignity and opportunity for every child. The overwhelming response and active participation from the audience underlined a collective push for empathy, education, and equality.

As Arunachal continues to embrace inclusive development, the message from April Blossom’s Annual Day was clear: disability is not inability — with support, understanding, and opportunity, every child can shine.
