Pankaj Tripathi to attend 'Rang Mahotsav' as brand ambassador in Itanagar tomorrow

Bollywood actor Pankaj Tripathi will attend 'Rang Mahotsav' as the brand ambassador in Arunachal's Itanagar on Friday (November 22). Rang Mahotsav, an International Theatre Festival, will be held in Itanagar from November 22 to December 5.  

 

The event, organised by the Government of Arunachal Pradesh, will feature a blend of local, national, and international theatrical performances.  

 

The festival will showcase a total of eight local productions from Arunachal, 12 national performances, five international acts, and eight additional productions selected through an open call.  

 

Esteemed institutions, including the National School of Drama (NSD), along with international theatre groups, will also participate in the festival.  

 

Riken Ngomle, a pioneer of Arunachal's theatre movement and Assistant Professor at the NSD, highlighted that the event underscores Arunachal Pradesh’s dedication to fostering cultural growth and providing a platform for both local talent and global artistic exchange.  

 

Rang Mahotsav Director Riken Ngomle stated that theatre performances from five countries and several states of India will join the festival. 

 

Tawang MLA Namgey Tsering applauded Chief Minister Pema Khandu for supporting such an international-level theatre workshop in Itanagar.  

 

"My scriptplay depicting the story of the 9th-century legendary King Kalawangpo and Queen Khandro Drowa Sangmo from the Mon Tawang region will be showcased through a play," Tsering said.
