Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu announced February 17 that the per capita income of the state has experienced an astounding surge of 105% from fiscal year 2015-2016 to 2023-2024. This revelation underlined the remarkable progress the state has made in economic development and reflects the efficacy of strategic budget allocations towards comprehensive growth.
Speaking on behalf of his administration's relentless commitment to the welfare and advancement of the people of Arunachal Pradesh, Chief Minister Khandu highlighted the pivotal role played by increased budget allocations in driving this impressive growth trajectory. He stated that the augmented funding has served as the bedrock for propelling growth and fostering development across various sectors within the state.
Chief Minister Khandu expressed profound satisfaction at the notable achievement, citing it as a source of motivation to continue striving towards the comprehensive development of Arunachal Pradesh.
The two-day budget session of the Arunachal Pradesh assembly commenced on February 8, heralding a pivotal moment for the state's fiscal landscape. Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, entrusted with the portfolios of Finance, Planning & Investment, showcased his adeptness, leading to a remarkable 137% increase in the annual budget, under the steadfast support of Chief Minister Pema Khandu.
Addressing the assembly, Chief Minister Pema Khandu applauded the collaborative efforts directed towards prioritizing development in alignment with the state's 'Saptarshi' agenda during the transformative 'Amrit Kaal'. He outlined a myriad of accomplishments achieved by the Government of Arunachal Pradesh (GoAP), ranging from achieving the lowest mortality rates nationwide with a consistent recovery rate exceeding 99% to institutional reforms such as the reformation of the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board.
Furthermore, the GoAP's initiatives encompassed pioneering endeavors such as the adoption of climate-tagged budgeting subsequent to the historic 'Pakke Declaration', the introduction of the National Pension System (NPS), and the establishment of state-of-the-art teleconsultation hubs at TRIHMS, Naharlagun, and BPGH, Pasighat.
