Police personnel caught buying drugs from peddlers in Arunachal's Lower Subansiri, citizens demand stern action
A police constable on duty was allegedly caught red-handed purchasing drugs from peddlers in Lower Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh.
The accused, identified as Constable Pangam Pangsa, was reportedly intercepted by vigilant locals of Ziro while engaging in a drug transaction. According to eyewitnesses, the residents confronted Pangsa and verified online money transfer records that appeared to confirm his financial dealings with the peddlers.
Outraged by the incident, the residents have urged the Superintendent of Police, Lower Subansiri, to initiate strict disciplinary and legal action against the erring constable.
They also expressed concern that the unchecked movement of uniformed personnel across district boundaries without proper monitoring has been contributing to the worsening drug menace in the state.
