Swift coordination averts major fire disaster in Arunachal’s Lower Dibang Valley
Firefighters quelled multiple blazes across the Lower Dibang Valley district in Arunachal Pradesh today through rapid reinforcements from Assam, preventing widespread damage.
The incidents began near Sally Lake, with simultaneous outbreaks reported in Dambuk and other spots. Local teams faced overwhelming odds, prompting Lower Dibang Valley Police to seek urgent aid from Assam's Director of Fire and Emergency Services.
Three fire tenders rushed in from neighbouring districts, backed by manpower from Sadiya and Tinsukia Superintendents of Police. This seamless response contained the flames before they could spread further.
Officials hailed the effort as a model of cross-border teamwork. The Superintendent of Police, Lower Dibang Valley, urged residents to report fires or emergencies to the nearest authorities without delay.
