The renowned Pangsau Pass market along the India-Myanmar border in Arunachal's Changlang district has been temporarily shut down by authorities amid the growing threat of the Coronavirus that has killed over 400 across the world.

Notably, Arunachal Pradesh shares a 1,080-km long border with China, the epicentre of the coronavirus outbreak and a 2,204 km long border with Myanmar.

A district-level meeting was chaired by subdivisional officer Ibom Tao, at the end of which it was decided to “suspend all operations at the border haat” till 21 March 2020, to prevent the possible spread of the respiratory illness.
