After ten years of hearing on 30th October 2008 Serial Bomb blast in Assam, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has delivered its verdict today.
14 accused have been convicted in relation to the blast. Further sentences are awaited
The bomb was plotted by the rebel group National Democratic Front of Boroland (NDFB) that claimed the lives of 88 people and 580 people were injured in Guwahati, Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, and Barpeta.
The verdict will be made against NDFB chief Ranjan Daimari and fifteen others accused under section 120(B), 121, 122, 123 and 302 of the Indian Panel Code (IPC).
The court recorded approximately 650 witnesses in relation to the case. The entire proceedings took nine years to record the statements.
