Guwahati: The Dhubri Police has apprehended 18 persons of allegations of them being cattle smugglers. The police have said that the suspected persons were apprehended along with addictive substances and Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN).
The police raided various places in the district based on specific inputs.
Bidyut Bikash Bora Bhuyan, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Dhubri stated that they have arrested 5 suspected cattle smugglers from Dhubri, 2 from Gauripur, and 11 from Golakganj during the operation.
During the raid police also seized a huge quantity of suspected illegal addictive substances and Fake Indian Currency Note (FICN) amounting to Rs 5000. The arrested persons have been booked under the NDPS Act.
