18-year-old Girl found dead with limbs tied in Kokrajhar

Kokrajhar, October 28, 2018:

On Saturday a burnt dead body of a girl was recovered from Boro Gendrabil in Kokrakhar. Locals have suspected the incident to be a case of rape and murder.

The deceased identified as Nandani Nath, aged about 18, was recovered from an open field with her limbs tied. At first the police suspected the incident to be a case of suicide but locals claimed it to be a clear case of rape and murder.

One of the locals said that the whole incident looks like a pre-planned murder as the kerosene used to kill her was taken from her home itself. He also alleged that the incident can be a gang rape as well.

Another local claimed that the police found an empty beer bottle from the spot as well.

However, a few have alleged that the incident might be a case of honour killing as well.

The police are currently investigating the whole issue.
