Assam militant outfit Dimasa National Liberation Army (DNLA) has called for a 24-hour Bandh on January 25, Saturday, in Dima Hasao and Karbi Anglong hill districts to mark the Dimasa Martyrs' Day.
DNLA issued a statement informing about the Bandh on account of the Dimasa Martyrs' Day and said that the strike will be in Dima Hasao and Karbi Anglong districts from Friday midnight till Saturday midnight.

It may be mentioned here that martyrs Probanta Hakmaosa and Mithun Dibragede were killed in police firing on January 25, 2018, while protesting against the Naga Accord at Dima Hasao's Maibang railway station. Since then, the day is observed as the Dimasa Martyrs' Day.

The DNLA, which announced its formation in early part of April 2019 amid Lok Sabha elections had called for 36 hours bandh on the poll day in the hills district. However, it had no impact on voters' turnout as majority of the voters casted their votes in the polling stations.
