GUWAHATI: At least 2,851 more people recovered from COVID-19 infection in Assam over the past 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries in the state to 2,37,088.
The recovery rate in the state currently stands at 88.49 per cent.
On the other hand, 4,475 more people tested positive for COVID-19 during the period, pushing the tally to 2,67,925. The positivity rate now stands at 8.14 per cent.
Assam recorded 41 COVID-19 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 1,430.
Of the new cases, Kamrup (M) reported 1,417 cases, followed by Dibrugarh 422, Kamrup 406 and Nagaon 222.
The deaths reported during the period include 15 from Kamrup (M), Bongaigaon four, Jorhat and Udalguri three each, Darrang, Golaghat, Kamrup and Tinsukia two each, and Baksa, Barpeta, Dibrugarh, Goalpara, Lakhimpur, Nagaon, Nalbari and Sonitpur districts one death each. The current death rate is 0.53 per cent.
The state currently has 28,060 active COVID-19 cases.
The new cases were detected out of the 55,003 tests conducted during the day. The cumulative total of COVID-19 tests conducted in Assam so far is 87,93,697.

A total of 27,45,383 people have been administered with COVID-19 vaccines in the state so far.
While 21,47,699 of them have received the first dose, 5,97,684 have received both the doses of the vaccine.
