GUWAHATI: Assam Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced that as many as 29,700 teachers will be appointed on February 5 in a move that is sure to help the cause of the ruling BJP-led Government in the poll-bound state.
Biswa Sarma, addressing the press here today, said that at least 1,698 primary schools will be provincialized due to which 3,309 teachers will be benefited.

On the other hand, 2,107 M.E schools will also be provincialized in the process in which 6586 teachers will be benefitted in this provincialization process.
Additionally, the teachers who don’t have professional qualification will be provincialized as "tutors."
The Minister further stated 264 High Schools will be provincialized in which 2,269 teachers will be benefitted while 4 higher secondary schools will be provincialized through which 31 teachers’ posts will be provincialized.
