The Assam Police have arrested three more persons for allegedly being involved in terror related activities. One person has been arrested from Nagaon’s Kachua while the other two were arrested from Jamunamukh.
A source said that the first arrested person has been identified as Riyazuddin Bhuyan of Kampur. The other two were identified as Jainal Ahmed and Baharul Islam of Jamunamukh.
The source further added that the arrested had contacts with Qamar-uz-Zaman and in August when he visited Assam, he stayed at Riyazuddin’s house. He also used Riyaz’s bike at that time. Currently, the Hojai police are interrogating the persons.
It may be mentioned that so far seven people have been arrested in the case related to the Hizbul Muzahideen. Earlier the police arrested Zaman, a resident of Jamunamukh, was arrested on Thursday from Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh.
UP Director General of Police, OP Singh, said Zaman was planning an attack on Ganesh Chaturthi and based on specific inputs, he was arrested from Kanpur’s Chakeri.
He said the Anti-Terrorist Squad was tracking him for the past few days leading to his arrest. The terrorist came under the police radar after he had posted a photo of him with an AK-47 rifle on social media. The police further added that he was trained in Pakistan last year.
