DHUBRI: At least 32 hard-working and retired teachers of Dhubri district of Assam were felicitated alongside former President Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan on the occassion of Teachers' Day.
Teachers' Day was celebrated at Dhubri Inspector of School premises under the auspices of Dhubri District Administration and Education Department today.
At the commencement of the function, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan's portrait was felicitated with flowers and bonti (diya).
Anbamuthan M.P, President of the Teachers' Day Celebration Committee and District Deputy Commissioner, said in his address to the gathering that teachers are the backbone of society.
Teachers have a significant impact on social change in the classroom.

He also mentions the role that teachers played in the technological changes that occurred during the Covid period, which leaves him speechless.
The Deputy Commissioner also said that special emphasis would be laid on solving the problems of teachers and the education sector in the district and also taking the district forward in the direction of education.
Dhurba Chakraborty, Principal of Bholanath College in Dhubri and a prominent educationist in attendance as the meeting's chief guest, stated that no nation can prosper without education and that teachers are eternal for all nations.
He also mentioned that if the New Education Policy (NEP) is implemented properly, the newcomer will become a world leader in India in 15-20 years.
