GUWAHATI: Assam has reported as many as 52 fresh COVID-19 cases over the last 24 hours taking the tally to 2,18,058.
Guwahati alone has reported 38 cases, while Udalguri, Nagaon, Sonitpur and Tinsukia reported 2 cases each.
One person has passed away due to the infection.
As of March 23, there are 347 active cases in the state, and 27 patients have been discharged.
Assam has been at the forefront of this fight against COVID-19 since the first positive patient was detected on March 31, last year.
While the total number of cases stands at 2,18,058, 2,15262 patients have been discharged and 1,102 people died so far.

Meanwhile, 7,617 beneficiaries with comorbidity of 45-59 years beneficiaries have received the first dose of Covid19 vaccine yesterday in the state.
87,474 beneficiaries above 60 years and 8,669 frontline and healthcare workers, was vaccinated yesterday.
Over 8,2020 people including healthcare workers and above 60 years have taken the second dose of the vaccine.
14,236 COVID-19 tests have been conducted on the day.
India will roll out the next phase of the Covid-19 vaccination drive from April 1, which will see people above 45 years of age, including those without morbidities, being inoculated against the pathogen.
