40 Bongaigaon students fall sick under mysterious circumstances

The hooch tragedy of Assam was yet to fade out; another incident shook the state with more than 40 students has fallen sick all at once in Bongaigaon district.

In a shocking incident at Bhangnamari High School at Chirang district, more than 40 students felt ill and fainted during class hours, and has been referred to Bongaigaon for better treatment.

The incident began at around 9:30 am in the morning and one after the other, the students started fainting. The school authorities informed the parents immediately to attend the ill students and the nearly public health centre. Although the nurses attended to the ill students, many remained seriously sick who were referred to Bongaigaon Civil Hospital.

The Principal of the school has said that six students had similarly fallen sick yesterday and their hands were reportedly shaking. The cause of their sickness has not yet been determined.

On the other hand, AAMSU and ABAMSU workers expressed grief over the role of ambulance service providers as they reached the site very late.
