KOKRAJHAR: Two persons has been arrested by the police in Kokrajhar today for possession of around 40 kg marijuana.
The contraband suspected to be marijuana was seized during the routine checking conducted by a team of Kokrajhar police along with the SST and FSC troopers around the district after the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) for elections came into force, said a police official.
The accused has been identified as Rahul Ali, a resident of Guwahati, Ram Kumar and Dhiraj Singh from Bihar.
The confiscated cannabis which was smuggled from Guwahati and were taking to the Kokrajhar railway station to deliver to Bihar.

Investigation on this matter is underway, said police.
The administration is conducting routine checking on the roads around the district, as only few day left for the assembly elections in the state.
