KAJALGAON: Over 41 litres of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and 12 cartoons of crackers have been recovered by the Flying Squad Team (FST) in a joint effort with the Static Surveillance Team (SST) from dhabas under Sidli assembly constituency in Chirang district yesterday.

 

The troopers of FST and SST recovered these liquor and crackers at some dhabas located at Sidli, Kashikotra, and Shyamthaibari area, running along with both sites of National Highway 31C.

The seizure was made by them as part of their daily assigned duties to check the possibility of bribing voters with liquor, cash, and gift items during the election informed officials of both the team.

Earlier this morning Chirang police have recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition in the Chirang reserve forest in Assam’s Udalguri district.

 

The cache was recovered after rigorous search operation conducted by Chirang Police led by additional SP (Hq), assisted by Circle Inspector (CI) Runikhata and Officer in charge (OC) Runikhata PS against illegal weapons (abuse and stockpiling) inside the Chirang Reserve Forest located at the Western side of village in Udalguri under Runikhata police station.
