Assam’s 60,000 km of electric wire to be replaced by AV cables

Guwahati (Assam), September 28, 2018:

Assam’s 60,000 km of electric wire will be replaced by AV cables.

This was announced by Power Minister Tapan Gogoi in the Assembly on Friday. The government has sanctioned Rs.4,000 crore to the department for the purpose.

Gogoi said the wires used earlier were of poor quality. He said the hike in electricity bill was minimal and would not impact the public.
