The Assam Government on Monday through an affidavit informed the Supreme Court that 70,000 declared illegal migrants had vanished in Assam.
As per reports, Assam Government admitted that they have no clue where 70,000 declared foreigners of Assam are declared by the various tribunal of the state. The affidavit was submitted to a bench of judges headed by Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi by Solicitor General Tushar Mehta.
Speaking to InsideNE, All Assam Minority Students Union (AAMSU) Azizur Rahman said, “This is a total failure of the Government of Assam. Despite having machinery database content, such a large number of people has gone missing. We cannot rely on the numbers, rather the identity should be revealed.”
