Due to consistent heavy rainfall in many parts of Assam, flood situation especially in seven districts of Hojai, Cachar, Golaghat, Hailakandi, Karimganj, Karbi Anglong(East) and West Karbi Anglong of the state have been affected by first wave of flood alongwith 370 number of villages.
One person has lost his life in Flood under Bokaghat Revenue Circle in Golaghat as reported today . A total of 1,66,836 number of population have been affected in the Flood.
Some parts of the state as Dhansiri at Numaligarh (Golaghat), Barak at A.P. Ghat (Cachar) and Badarpurghat (Karimganj), Katakhal at Matizuri (Hailakandi), Kushiyara at Karimganj (Karimganj) are flowing above danger level.
Two persons lost their lives due to landslide at Mahur under Halflong Revenue Circle, Dima Hasao. 166 houses were fully damaged where eight people were rescued by Fire and Emergency Service personnel and local volunteers.
NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) and SDRF (State Disaster Response Force) teams have been engaged into service in the flood affected areas for search and rescue operation. 422 Person have been rescued in from Karimganj district, Hailakandi, Cacahar and Golaghat by them. 115 number of Camps have been operational in Karimganj, Hailakandi, Karbi Anglong (East) and Golaghat with 35,927 inmates.
