All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) chief advisor Samujjal Bhattacharya on Wednesday categorically criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi led BJP-government’s ‘trident’ policy of “Daman (domination), Pralubhan (temptation) and Vibhajan (division).
Samujjal Bhattacharya, while addressing a gathering at Chandmari playgroud, pointed out that the Government at this moment is trying its best to impose the policy of daman as they have already suspended internet services, and forced people to stay inside their residence by imposing curfews.
The AASU chief advisor also took a jibe at the government over its ‘pralubhan’ policy by announcing 50,000 jobs in the state for the youths. He also lamented the government’s move of announcing Rs. 50,000 pension money to the artists of the state at a very sensitive period.
Talking about the BJP’s ‘vibhajan’ policy, the students’ body leader lashed out at the government for trying to create a rift among the Hindus and Muslims in the country.
Bhattacharya also turned down heavily on the 20 Vice-Chancellors of Universities in Assam for signing a joint petition urging students to concentrate on studies, and questioned why they had remained mum while the students were being mercilessly beaten by security personnel.
The AASU Chief Adviser further urged the 20 Vice-Chancellors to meet Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and oppose the contentious Citizenship (Amendment) Act.
