All Assam Students' Union (AASU) leader Samujjal Bhattacharya on Tuesday said that the organization is willing to have an 'open debate' with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh.

The All Assam Students' Union will make a "move" based on the advice of the organization's leader, the leader assured. The AASU leader promised 'long term' democratic movement, and assured that one day or another, the Bill will be lifted.
The AASU leader further accused those leaders who had promised to implement the Assam Accord, of betraying the people of Assam.
It may be mentioned here that the resentment against the Bill has reached fever-pitch in Assam, which will not have any safeguards against the legislation.

Although the Government has assured that areas under the Inner Line Permit (ILP) regime and the areas under the 6th Schedule, will be exempted from the Bill, a situation of unrest has been observed across the region. During the 'bandh' called by the Northeast Students' Union (NESO), many acts of violence were reported, especially from the states of Assam and Tripura.
